Everglades Foundation

The Everglades Foundation was founded in 1993 to support the scientific research, education programs, and advocacy needs to protect one of the largest ecosystem restoration initiatives in the United States.

According to the Foundation, the Everglades are the “economic lifeblood of one of the most vibrant regional economies in the U.S.”  The Foundation also notes that the Everglades are “home to hundreds of species of beautiful and fascinating wading birds, mammals, fishes, reptiles, amphibians and plants.”

More than 70 species of Everglades inhabitants are threatened and endangered as well while nearly eight million human Floridians get their fresh water sourced from the Everglades themselves.

The obvious immediate challenge for the Foundation:

Deepen the philanthropic resources of the foundation in order to provide the advocacy and scientific research needed to restore a very large ecosystem that impacts a large metropolitan region.

Generosity Assessment:  The Everglades Foundation is a strongly respected fundraising and advocacy organization that has had measurable favorable impact on restoring an iconic wildlife area dominating the South Florida landscape.  We believe the Everglades Foundation will prove successful over the long-term thanks to their focus on improving their operational stability, especially if they greatly strengthen their net assets pool. The Foundation is a great candidate for support from:

Principal & Major Gifts

Planned Gifts and Annual Funds

Program Related Investments

Social Impact Funds

Public-Private-Philanthropic Partnerships

Corporate Grants and Sponsorships

Special, Special Events and Annual Fund
