Georgetown University
(Disclosure: The author is a proud graduate of Georgetown University)
Georgetown University has graced the Washington DC skyline since 1789 - the same year as our nation’s Constitution took effect and the French revolted yet again.
The university is a hub for political, business, and health scholars as well as researchers dedicated to expanding the boundaries of our knowledge, with a little faith from Jesuit Catholics who founded the institution thrown into the mix. “We like to call Georgetown a leading research university with a heart.”
Georgetown Hoyas are forward-looking folks. A diverse and influential community of students, teachers, administrators, an alumni 190,000-members strong, who are devoted to social justice, “restless inquiry,” and deep respect for each person’s individual needs and talents.
In other words, we are, as Georgetown herself describes us, a “community of people who bridge or disparate experiences and ideas.”

The obvious immediate challenge for Georgetown University:
Recover its momentum when COVID-19 subsides and restoring the campus’ priorities and needs as defined by all Hoya stakeholders.
Generosity Assessment: Georgetown University has centuries of experience in educating new generations of Hoyas each decade and their long-term outlook remains promising. Fundraising will need to make up for some lost ground due to the novel coronavirus, but that is a doable task. We believe Georgetown remains a great candidate for support from:
