Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels America is the parent charitable organization of a network of more than 5,000 community-based programs that strive to assist vulnerable seniors who are at the greatest risk in America from a variety of challenges, including most recently, COVID-19.

Each and every day, the Meals on Wheels team is fighting for seniors on the front lines to keep older Americans nourished and hopefully safe in their communities around the nation.  They provide, at times, a literal lifeline for millions of isolated, frightened seniors who have terribly uncertain futures.

Ellie Hollander, the President and CEO of Meals on Wheels America writes in her LinkedIn profile that, “Too many seniors go to bed hungry every night due to a lack of resources or the fact that they are ‘hidden.’ In the richest country in the world, it is a travesty that more than 9.6 million seniors face the threat of hunger.”
